Marriage Preparation – starts 9th March 2012
This programme for couples preparing for marriage lasts 5 friday evenings. It takes time out to explore mutual expectations and how to make the most of marriage after the formal ceremony. Whether you have been married before or are approaching marriage for the first time this is just for you.

Marriage Celebration – 11th May single evening event
A single evening of food and fun for married couples. Cars need MOT’s and sometimes in marriage it is important to just take time to reflect and agree how to make the most of shared time. This is just a single evening starting with a meal and a really worthwhile investment.

Growing Together – Marriage Course starts 15th September
This is a series of 7 evenings, each starting with a meal. Roger and Lynn lead couples through a variety of discussion points. Humour and expereinces are shared but there is no requirement for any group work. Just coulples are allowed to spend time addressing a variety of subjects in a relaxed, confidential and sensitive way. Whether married for just one or 50 years there is something for everyone as marriage is never a static relationship and needs to adapt and develop coping with both internal and external pressures.

And yet there is a reluctance to invest time in building relationships. Whether this people not wanting to admit they could have more fun or are just too busy I am not sure I know.

So we are going to offer a short programme on 30th September which is a great opportunity to spend time together as a couple looking at how to make the most of your marriage. It is very practical and will help equip you with the tools needed to build a healthy marriage that lasts a lifetime. Over 7 evening sessions you are given the opportunity to enjoy a meal together and listen to a talk. Then there is plenty of time to discuss the topic as a couple. There is no group work involved at any stage of the course.

It is for any married couple who wants to work together at and invest in their relationship. It doesn’t matter if you’ve been married for less than two years or more than thirty.

If you have a strong marriage this course will help you make it even better and will reinforce your good habits. If on the other hand your marriage is in difficulty, the course will help provide you with very practical tools to help you work through the issues. Some couples who are separated have used the course as a way of trying to get back together.

• RESOLVING CONFLICT
• THE POWER OF FORGIVENESS
• PARENTS AND IN-LAWS
• GOOD SEX
• LOVE IN ACTION

At the end of each session you will be given some homework to do together before the next session. It isn’t looked at by anyone else and is just for your own benefit to help you continue your discussion at home.

There is no formal cost but it would be helpful if participants can make a donation of £10 per couple per evening to cover all materials and meals.
